Winter Dreamtime:
Nourishing Your Roots
Winter is the particular season in which there is a calling to go inward.
It is an opportunity for us to connect to who we truly are, to our authenticity. We are encouraged to let go of the past so that come Springtime, we can emerge from the period of hibernation with clear energy allowing us to move forward with a new vision.
In winter it’s important to pay particular attention to the health of your body. Your body and energy can become weakened from lack of exercise and warmth and it’s easier to get sick...which is no fun! The ancient Taoists have taught us through Chinese medicine that protecting your kidneys is especially important as they are the main energy centers of the body. Kidney energy is the source of your vitality and longevity and is the storehouse of “Jing Qi” or “essential energy.” Learning to nourish this deep internal root energy provides the blueprint for a successful & bountiful Spring, leading us forward into the rest of the year powered up with life force energy, creativity and embodied vitality.
Qigong comes from ancient traditions bringing a relatable workout for modern times that is deeply relaxing while enjoyable to practice. It tonifies & strengthens the whole human system with a kind of down-to-earth practicality that is in full partnership balance with the heavens above.
