The Menopause Map

April Gathering: Blood Sugar, Cortisol & the Midlife Belly

In perimenopause, the body’s metabolic rhythm is often disrupted by the same hormonal shifts that impact our mood. While we tend to blame calories for weight gain 'out of nowhere,' the real culprit is often timing. Erratic cortisol curves and overnight blood sugar dips signal the body to hold onto fat, even when we aren’t overeating.

This month, we’re moving beyond restriction and looking at how morning protein and light exposure can reset the body’s natural rhythm, starting with a simple idea practice: build a better breakfast before changing a single thing about dinner.

What to Expect:

You are invited to pull up a chair (or a yoga mat, or a cozy blanket) and join us for an honest, judgment-free conversation about (peri)menopause.

This is not a lecture. It's a gathering of women who are tired of being told "just relax" and are ready for real answers and real support. Together, we'll unpack the "hormone chatter" you hear online, translate the science into plain English, and leave you with one gentle, doable practice.

Come as you are—tired, frustrated, hopeful, or all of the above.

What to Bring:

  • Your curiosity: Bring your questions about the topic and what's happening in your body.

  • A journal and pen: We'll have moments for reflection and note-taking.

  • Something cozy: A favorite mug for tea or cacao, a soft blanket, or comfy socks. We're creating a space where you can physically feel safe and at ease.

  • An open heart: This is a space free of judgment. Your story is welcome here.
