The Menopause Map

June Gathering: Histamine, Inflammation & Summer Flares

In perimenopause, the arrival of summer can bring more than just heat—it can bring unexpected inflammation. As estrogen fluctuates, it disrupts our ability to clear histamine, leaving many women suddenly dealing with headaches, itching, flushing, or a dramatically lowered alcohol tolerance. When you add the stress of high temperatures, the body's inflammatory load can spike fast.

This month, we're decoding the tangled relationship between estrogen and histamine and exploring how to work with the season instead of against it. We'll focus on cooling foods, strategic hydration, and pacing as our idea practice—simple tools to turn down the internal heat before it flares.

What to Expect:

You are invited to pull up a chair (or a yoga mat, or a cozy blanket) and join us for an honest, judgment-free conversation about (peri)menopause.

This is not a lecture. It's a gathering of women who are tired of being told "just relax" and are ready for real answers and real support. Together, we'll unpack the "hormone chatter" you hear online, translate the science into plain English, and leave you with one gentle, doable practice.

Come as you are—tired, frustrated, hopeful, or all of the above.

What to Bring:

  • Your curiosity: Bring your questions about the topic and what's happening in your body.

  • A journal and pen: We'll have moments for reflection and note-taking.

  • Something cozy: A favorite mug for tea or cacao, a soft blanket, or comfy socks. We're creating a space where you can physically feel safe and at ease.

  • An open heart: This is a space free of judgment. Your story is welcome here.
